Everyone was involved

Yesterday, the small church I attend pulled off a children  / adult Christmas play. The theatrical event was low key and yet simply adorable! The smaller kids were dressed as sheep, shepherds, angels, Mary and Joesph, while the older children wore kings and robes while acting out the wise men following the star. After the play was over the director invited everyone from the church to her house for food and fellowship. While we ate and drank she commented on how she was pleased with the production and everyone involved. She mentioned how she was most happy that everyone was involved and able to help.

The idea of a team of volunteers coming together inspires within in me hope. Hope for the future and all the problems the world seems to be facing. Very soon the new year will be here and with it rising numbers of poverty disease, a toxic climate and tense foreign relations, but if a bunch of kids and adults can all volunteer and (with very limited practice) come together to form a, really good, play then I do not see any reason why the citizens of earth cannot come together and solve any and every problem.

We can, but it has to be done with everyone’s involvement. I am not sure if you are familiar with LinkedIN. It is a wildly successful company. When you get the chance swing by http://www.linkedin.com and see what they are all about. One of Linked In’s co founders made a very profound quote about the power of team work when he said  “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. ….you’ll always lose out to a team” Reid Hoffman, LinkedIn co-founder.

He was right when an individual person plays a team he will always loose out and when a problem comes up against a team well you can figure it out.

Go Team!!
