“The flux capacitor is fluxing”

Ok movie fans what line is this post title from? Did you guess “Back to the Future”? If you did you are right and you are more than likely a fan, like me and many many other people in the world. In case you are not a fan let me tell you this, “Back to the Future” is one of the greatest movies ever produced! In the movie our hero drives a Delorean time machine into the past and gets stuck. He has to work with his good friend who doesn’t know him, (because he is in the past before he was born) to get back to the future.

A plan is born and he is ready to drive back to the future, Marty (that is our heroes name) looks back at the flux capacitor and makes our title quote.

This weekend has been a wild one for my girlfriend and I. We have been dealing with a busy schedule and some major changes in life and it feels like life is almost in flux. (so you see why the title is there now?) I mentioned (super geek alert here) that, it would be nice if there was such a thing as a flux capacitor.  The thing is though, that there is no such thing as a flux capacitor.. right? Well maybe almost but not like the one in the movie. The other thing is that even if there is or isn’t one we don’t have it so what is a couple to do when their life is in flux?

Be close to each other. That helps when you feel like life is in flux. Why does it help? Well that is an easy one. It helps because it reminds you of what is important and what shouldn’t change love. It is transcendent and steady and it is the only thing we can control. No we cannot control who we love but we can control how we show that love.  There is this awesome song that a Irish rock  band named “The Script” sings called “For the First Time”. It is about a couple in a state of flux and what happens in the lyrics is beautiful. I would explain but let me bow out here

“For The First Time”

She’s all laid up in bed with a broken heart,
While I’m drinking jack all alone in my local bar,
And we don’t know how,
How we got into this mad situation,
Only doing things out of frustration

Trying to make it work but man these times are hard,

She needs me now but I can’t seem to find the time,
I’ve got a new job now on the unemployment line,
And we don’t know how,
How we got into this mess
Is it a God’s test?
Someone help us ’cause we’re doing our best,

Trying to make it work but man these times are hard

But we’re gonna start by
Drinking old cheap bottles of wine,
[Clean version:] Sit talking up all night,
Saying things we haven’t for a while
A while, yeah,
We’re smiling but we’re close to tears,
Even after all these years,
We just now got the feeling that we’re meeting for the first time

[x3:]
Oooooo

She’s in line at the DOLE*
With her head held high (high)
While I just lost my job but
Didn’t lose my pride

But we both know how,
How we’re gonna make it work when it hurts,
When you pick yourself up,
You get kicked to the dirt,

Trying to make it work but,
Man, these times are hard,

But we’re gonna start by
Drinking old cheap bottles of wine,
[Clean version:] Sit talking up all night,
Doing things we haven’t for a while,
A while yeah,
We’re smiling but we’re close to tears,
Even after all these years,
We just now got the feeling that we’re meeting for the first time.

Ooooo
[x3]

Yeah…
Drinking old cheap bottles of wine,
[Clean version:] Sit talking up all night,
Saying things we haven’t for a while,
We’re smiling but we’re close to tears,
Even after all these years,
We just now got the feeling that we’re meeting for the first time

Ooooo,.. yeah, for the first time
Ooooo,.. oh, for the first time,
Yeah for the first time,
(Just now got the feeling that we’re meeting for the first time)

[x4]
Oh these times are hard,
Yeah, they’re making us crazy
Don’t give up on me baby

[* DOLE is the unemployment line in Ireland]

See beautiful right? I don’t want or need a flux capaciator all I need is well Love. No I will not paste those lyrics here, I think one song is enough
peace
