A little encouragement

Posted: January 5, 2015 in Uncategorized

It is Monday January 5, while I type this. I am not sure when you will read this, however if you are reading it on a Monday changes are you made need some encouragement. Doing good is hard and can be a lonely road full if pitfalls and despair.
It is day five and I know you have made and are working on good resolutions.

“Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.”
Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
But see, it can be hard, being a good person. I thought of all kind of encouraging words to type here. All the words I could imagine felt a bit pedantic and, I respect my fan much more than that. In the end I decided to leave your encouragement to the words of an expert.

Invictus

BY WILLIAM ERNEST HENLEY
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

The one thing you can and will and should control is you! Keep your head up! You are
the captain of your soul.
Peace
