Promises promises

Posted: June 25, 2015 in Uncategorized

A promise is:

1 a :a declaration that one will do or refrain from doing something specified

b :a legally binding declaration that gives the person to whom it is made a right to expect or to claim the performance or forbearance of a specified act
I made a promise the other day on this blog. I promised my fan that something new would be here yesterday and yesterday is gone and nothing came. So I lied, I broke my promise and I am tore up, about it.

See when we promise to do something we are promising that person we are doing it for and ourselves. When we break a promise we harmed  not one but at least two people. I really thought I would get done my new idea and change but I didnt. I did not yet! The change is coming and will be soon it has to or I am a liar and I don’t like being a liar I mean who does? So stay tuned I am going to redeem myself

Something different

Posted: June 23, 2015 in Uncategorized

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but recently I have fallen off the wagon. No there’s no need to call Alcoholics Anonymous, I am not drinking again, (I love that song by the way “drinking again”). I am finishing up, a break that I’ve taken from well a lot of stuff. One of the “stuff”, that I’m taking a break from is this blog. For my absence, I apologize to my one follower. Follower, I am sorry, I contemplated, coming up with some really great and awesome reason for my falling off, but you deserve better and all I have to offer is my simple heartfelt apology. I am sorry. I don’t know the reason I fell off the wagon, but I know I’m ready to get back on it. I am ready to write again. This time, however I would like to do something a little different. Am I, going to post at night? Will I, post in a foreign language? Will I, make sure all my posts are grammatically correct? We know that’s not the difference, Right? Me and grammar have a love-hate relationship I love to hate it and hate to use it. I will not answer my questions if you want to know what will be different tune in tomorrow on this blog

Failure.. I don’t know what it means and I refuse to learn the definition. Usually I am all about the learning process. I think we should learn as much as we can but I refuse to learn about failure. See to learn and accept this concept or failure

No bogey man

Posted: June 8, 2015 in Uncategorized

when I was younger there was a bogey man hiding in my closet. He was a bad guy and he stayed in the closet if there was a night light lit. The light kept the bogey man in check because the light was good and the bogey man was everything evil and bad. Guess what reader? In case you didn’t know, I am telling you, there s no such thing as the bogey man.

In the 80s all across the Unoted States of America politicians attorney generals and law abiding citizens ushered in a “tough on crime era”. If you were middle class or above your neighborhoods looked good. The prisons filled up with the poor and minorities but no one complained because they were all criminals. Then the recession hit and a lot of us became poor. Now we lived in the neighborhoods on the fringe. The police attorney generals and politicians did not soften up on crime and criminals. Right now almost 1 percent of the population in the United States is in prison.

See the thing about being tough on crime is this, there is no bogey man. A tough on crime campaign has to include and be part of a better social movement that involves education and empowerment.

If there was a pure evil bogey man then, a tough on crime policy would be fine. It would do all of us well when dealing , with people to remember that there is no bogey man.

Nudge the ones you love

Posted: June 4, 2015 in Uncategorized

what is a nudge? A nudge is, a light touch or to coax or gently encourage someone to do something.

So in behavioral economics, many economists suggest that the governing authority use nudges to  influence good behavior.  A nudge does not bite and harm, as conscription does. With a nudge we allow our loved ones to make up their own minds and we help not hurt.

Isn’t that the secret to a great relationship? To help not hurt? So if a nudge is so good, why is it so hard to do? Well, a nudge often requires patience, trust and hope.

Many nudges will take a long time to have the desired effects and sometimes the nudges may not work.  When we ask for someone to do something good for them or us we trust they will. This trust is paramount in a healthy relationship. Sometimes when one member of a relationship has let another down, often more than once, then there is not much hope in the relationship. A relationship without hope is like a sailboat without a breeze. You have to have hope or you’ve got nothing.

Give till it hurts and nudge and hug the ones you love

on Friday The dread pirate Roberts was convicted of seven counts and for being the administrator of the silk Road. For those of you who do not know, The silk Road is A website which allows its users to engage in commercial activity in an anonymous manner. The silk Road was shut down by the FBI, only to be reopened and named the silk Road 2.0 . The silk Road 2.0 was then rebranded and named the silk Road three reloaded. During all this name changing in rebranding the FBI arrested and charged one of the silk Road administrators. On Friday, The administrator, who went under the name the dread pirate Roberts was sentenced to life in prison. The silk Road is an interesting website to me, and that it is almost not a website it all, But more like a community, full of individuals who for various reasons wish to remain anonymous. The name the dread pirate Roberts comes from the movie, “The Princess bride”. In the movie our hero explains to the princess, that he is not really the dread pirate Roberts, The dread pirate Roberts is really an idea for a pirate ship captain. Our hero was given the moniker by the previous pirate ship captain. The FBI arrested a man who called himself the dread pirate Roberts in connection to a website that hosted a community on the Internet as silk Road, but the idea of an anonymous community was not arrested or even stalled. This brings up some philosophical questions about law enforcement and the idea of going after the “big fish”Or “kingpins

In the movies in crime is that simple. You put the bag guy in jail and everyone goes home to enjoy happily ever after. In real life however, we see that crime, Like everything else, is not simple at all. The dread pirate Roberts may be in jail for the rest of his life, but the silk Road is still open and it is still complicated.
