Life is funny and strange and laughs at our plans

Last year, I started a mission. I was going to write a new book! I dedicated this blog to writing the book, every post was going to be another chapter in the book. I think I did pretty good at first, ah there is always an at first isn’t there?

I stayed on track with the book but, life got sort of (and I hate using this term) complicated. I was laid off from work and began exploring options for employment. The job market is rough and diverse. I found a job and began work at a new corporation. I am still learning the infrastructure and culture of the new company. Every day I learn something new. (see it did get kind of complicated?)

I fell behind when the complications came. I haven’t posted for a very long time. The reason I haven’t posted is because I am stuck on a chapter in the book. I am really close to completing the chapter and I will complete both the chapter and this new book, but I am not going to rush it. I mentioned earlier in this post that I was going to dedicate my posts to the book right? Yes I did. Well, I am changing that plan. I am changing the plan because, I love posting. I really do. I love typing and sharing my thoughts with my one fan. So.. here is the new plan. I am creating a new page on this site. The new site page will be called, “newest book”, the newest book page will have all the chapters for the newest book on it and this page will once again contain my daily ramblings.

I am back and still moving forward with the book just in a different way. I am doing this in a different way because life is funny and strange and when we make great plans life laughs in our faces. What we do when life laughs at us defines who we are. Stay a compassionate and benevolent creature. Be flexible and resolute at the same time.

Last week I took my kids to see the new Jungle Book movie, this week I took my girlfriend to see the movie. I love Rudyard Kipling! I have mentioned it before but, I will mention it again. My moms favorite poem was IF. The poem IF is a magnificent piece of work. The poem explains to a boy how to live his life. It explains how to be flexible and responsible. The poem goes through and at the end explains the benefits of living life a certain way.  The poem is great for any person entering adulthood. I think the closing line from the poem is apt for this post and I will end with it now.

“Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!”
