Starting pistol

I love this movie, “Man on Fire”. In the movie Denzel Washington plays a body guard for a young girl. The girl, played by Dakota Fanning, was on a swim team. She was the fastest girl on the team and yet she would loose by seconds at every meet. There is a scene in the movie in which the young girl and the body guard bond while he teaches her how to “beat” the starting pistol.

Starting pistols are used to signify the beginning of a timed event. They are loud and abrupt, just as the start of a timed event should be. Often, starting pistols can startle a participant. This was the case for, the girl in the movie. The body guard taught the girl not to fear or be startled by the pistol but to embrace it, I believe the mantra was, “The pistol sets me free.”

Monday, can be somewhat of a culture shock for the modern working person. Mondays stink and everyone hates them but what if you could change that? What if you embraced the freedom of Monday? What if you looked at Monday as a starter pistol? What is Monday set you free? Think of Monday as a reset. Last week is over and this week you have the chance to really “tear it up”

So get out there and be free and awesome!!
