America, Religion and blue jeans

I went to the mall and picked up a pair of shoes from the True Religion jeans store. I really liked the shoes, the looked great and where very comfortable, I also thought that the brands name was fun. True Religion…

Religion, an organized system of beliefs, that’s one definition for religion. Honest, that’s the definition for true. Interest or belief, another definition for Religion.

What do you think when you hear the word religion? I think of symbology and the United States. The United States of America is a nation full of symbols and ideas. A democratic republic is an amazing ideal in and of itself. The largest export of the United States is financial services and what are financial services if they are not an ideal?

America and Americans take part in what I call the American Religion. There are lots of pieces and parts and symbols to the American religion but the most important part for me is that of the importance of each and every citizen individually and in a gestalt nature. The motto of the United States passed by congress in 1956 was “E Pluribus Unum (“from many, one”) “, granted, the modern motto, signed into law is, “In God we Trust” the motto passed by congress and the original religion if you will was E Pluribus Unum (“from many, one”).

I like the original better than the modern. Because you and I matter. We are important and if we work together we can do anything!
