With pain

Earlier in the week I was listening to a writer being interviewed on the radio. The writer was discussing his new book , that outlined joy and the insight was pretty amazing.

The writer mentioned how, most peoples description of a joyful moment does not actually equate to joy. Most people would say that joy is sitting on a beach drinking a mojito and watching the tide roll in, but a more joyful experience would be sitting on a beach after an exhausting day of fishing, farming and enjoying a mojito.

“Sometimes you've got to go through hell to get to heaven.” #quote #unknown #motivation:

When I was younger I worked part time at a fast food restaurant and I still have fond memories that involve the drive home late at night. That satisfied exhaustion is something that, if it could be bottled and sold would make a person a millionaire.

I am not sure what profession you are but I encourage you, when you feel like joy is far off be cognizant of the moment and the satisfaction of a job well done and when you finish the job celebrate!
